Good lcuk Tokopedia!

As a new chapter emerges, another has to end.
So is my journey with Tokopedia.

Yes, it has been a month since I left my job in Tokopedia as an Executive Assistant. Unbelievable because it seriously feels like it was only yesterday that I handed in my resignation letter and it is definitely not an easy decision to take. The reason why it probably took me this long to finally talk about it is because until my last day and even after a few weeks, I was still asking myself if it was the right thing to do.

I started joining this company when there were less than 300 Nakama - how we call employees in Tokopedia. One year went by and we had around 600 Nakama. Suddenly, in under two years, we already have more than a thousand Nakama, all working in the same city, in the same building. Back then I would know each and everyone's name, I would greet them whenever we pass in the corridors, and I could even talk to anyone who's at the pantry. We were that small. Now, every time someone comes up to me, I would have to ask them first who they are and which team they are from.

Two years might seem like a short time. But working in Tokopedia and especially as an Executive Assistant, I have learnt a lot! Branding, Event Organizing, Product Design, Customer Service, Accounting, Finance, Facility Management. The list goes on. Which makes Tokopedia a great place to learn actually.

However I am a firm believer of this specific verse
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
Ecclesiastes 3:1
And I think that this is the right time for me to graduate from Tokopedia.

I thank Pak William for being an inspiring CEO. God must've specifically chosen you to be the CEO of Tokopedia because of your perseverance, persistence, hard work, and in-depth and broad mindset. During my interview, I was asked what was my expectation of Tokopedia and I answered that I wanted to be inspired. And although maybe other expectations weren't met yet, but I surely met my main expectation which was to get inspired. Also thank you for the trust you have given me for the past two years. I apologize if I ever mess up your schedule or tire you with the endless meetings ✌🏼

I thank all the great chiefs and leaders of Tokopedia who have taught many different things from different aspects of the company. I most certainly enjoyed our formal and casual discussion. It may seem like unimportant topics, but believe me, each discussion have fueled my brain with more knowledge to step into the next world of career.

My next gratitude would definitely go to the People Department of Tokopedia, the department who accepts me as a part of their team although I rarely work very closely with. You guys are... beyond incredible. Especially the Recruitment team. Although you guys know annoy me sometimes, I am still thankful for your presence in my Tokopedia life journey. You guys are amazing and definitely strong women who cares more for others than yourself. Gotta love your goodbye notes btw! Hahaha

Next in line are the TopAmbassador coaches. You guys are true inspiration to the TopAmbassadors. Although we are in different companies now, hopefully we keep in touch no matter where we are! Ko Oei - sukses di tempat baru. Acun - jangan lupa undang gw pas nikah. Andre - kurang-kurangin pulang malem yah, kata nenek itu berbahaya. Fani - sabar-sabar yah setim sama Acun, semoga setelah nikah dia jadi lebih waras. Ka Nisa, Ala, Dhea! Mari kita karaoke lagi gengs!

Also to my fellow Nakama Academy Batch 3 fellas. In the beginning there were around 35 of us, but slowly one by one each of us started waving goodbye to Tokopedia. But don't worry, even though I am out of Tokopedia now, I'll make sure we still have our yearly dinner! Maybe it will be a reunion next year :D

My 2017 Halloween Team! You guys rock! I seriously don't know how to pull off a super cool halloween party for Tokopedia without all of you guys. Within a short amount of time you guys are able to squeeze out all of your creativity and deliver what is hopefully a remarkable Halloween party for our Nakama - with all the limitations we had being the first company-wide event in our building!

And all the other people who are close to my heart, you know who you are. Truly Tokopedia has become more than a workplace for me. But at the end of the day I still have to say and goodbye. And again I will say thank you thank you thank you to all Nakama of Tokopedia. I definitely can't do my job as an EA properly without all your support! And good lcuk Tokopedia. Be the pride of Indonesia.

Malachi 3:10 New International Version (NIV)

10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.

Lately I've been trying to stay obedient in giving back tithe, no matter what my financial situation is. And amazingly, God provides for me more than ever through this obedience. Somehow, each day, His provision is always there for me. Now I truly believe that whenever we are obedient to His words, He will manifest His work in ways we have not yet imagined before.

Sunday at Grand Kemang Hotel

On the last day of the Lebaran holidays (and I literally mean last day), my sister and I got a chance to enjoy the Sunday Brunch package at Sperta, Grand Kemang Hotel. And for FREE! Yep. I joined this mini quiz on Instagram hosted by J Ryan Karsten and I won so we were given 1 sunday brunch voucher for two people. The Sunday Brunch are actually for sale also, each at IDR 275.000 ++/person and an additional IDR 250.000 ++ if you want free flow of red wine, white wine, sparkling wine and beer (more info).

Honestly I have never heard of this place before, but who doesn't love free stuff right? :p
So when I got the voucher I did a little bit of research. Some other blogs have actually written their reviews on Grand Kemang's Brunch package and mostly came up with good reviews. On one of the blogs that I read, I saw that Sperta, where we had our brunch, is located next to the swimming pool. And of course, as a true water-person, I immediately questioned if we can swim also. Unfortunately it was vaguely told on other people's article, so I wasn't very sure if we were allowed.  Wanting to assure myself that I am allowed to swim, I decided to call Grand Kemang and... what a good news! Yes swimming is allowed. I was so happy and excited knowing that I could swim there.

From the name, I knew that this hotel was located in Kemang but I had no idea where it was exactly, even though I go to Kemang quite often. Turns out the hotel is located right across Kemchicks Kemang. So there shouldn't be any problem trying to look for this hotel :)

Food and Beverage
I have to say Grand Kemang's variety of food served is A LOT! They have several stations in the restaurants and all of which are superbly delicious too. Sushi, Dim Sum, Meat Slice, Asian Food, Pasta, dessert, fruit slices, gelato, you name it. In the Pasta section itself, you can create your own pasta. When I came they had 4 selection of pasta and 6 selection of sauce. They also allow us to choose the toppings we'd like to use. I personally recommend the Choco Lava Cake and the Meat Slice.

Swimming Pool
There are two swimming pools at Grand Kemang Hotel, one for the adult and another for the kids. The size of the kids pool isn't that big, definitely not for a kids' pool party because it would probaly only fit around 7-10 kids. But the adult pool.... definitely can throw a pool party there. You have to make sure that you can swim though because the depth of their pool is around 2.5 meters! Yep, it's super deep and you surely can't stand on your feet.

If you happen to be staying at this hotel, they provide free towels for you to borrow. But if not - like me - you have to bring your own towel. You can also shower at the bathroom. They have 3 shower rooms along with soap and shampoo provided and a hair dryer if you don't want to go out with wet hair.

I definitely recommend this place as a staycation destination for the Jakarta peeps or even only for a day-visit. It is affordable and with what you pay, you get a lot! Be sure to follow their social media account too, they often have events that you might be interested in.

P.S. Thanks Ruanth for taking us there!

Candi Ratu Boko

On my last day of being in Jogjakarta for the HackFest event hosted by UAJY, the committee took the Tokopedia team to Candi Ratu Boko. Honestly, I had no idea what the Candi Ratu Boko is. The landmarks I know that's located in Jogjakarta are only Candi Borobudur and Candi Prambanan. My expectation of this place was that it will have a majestic collection of temples just like Borobudur and Prambanan.
They decided to bring us to Candi Ratu Boko because it was the closest landmark from UAJY and our flight was on the evening of the same day. It only took us around 1 hour by car to get to the Candi Ratu Boko. There are also different alternatives on how to get there provided by PT Taman Wisata Candi at their website.

The admission ticket to the Candi Ratu Boko is only Rp 40.000 with a flat-rate Rp 10.000 parking fee for cars. Now don't expect to find a lot of temples at this landmark because it's actually ruins of an empire. It consists of several buildings, the main gate, Pendopo (a gathering area), Keputren (Princess Palace), caves, and many other areas of the empire.

Most visitors come to this place during sunset hours because it acts a perfect photo background. Unfortunately, our time wasn't much and we can only stay there for a few hours.
Candi Ratu Boko was an interesting place to visit despite its undeniable heat during the day. And for those who would like to explore the other temples, there's actually a package ticket available at only Rp 75.000. So, give this place a visit on your next trip to Jogja!

Applying & Obtaining China Visa

Working as an EA requires me to be able to do a lot of things for my bosses. One of the most frequent thing that I have to take care of is travel plans arrangements including handling Visa Matters. Recently I had to apply for the Chinese Visa so I thought why not share it here.

The type of visa that I applied for is the Business/Trade Visa (M type). Now before applying, these are the documents that you need to prepare:
Original Passport
Passport Copy (both Bio information and address info)
Completed Visa Application Form (along with 48x33mm picture. Check the photo guideline here!)
ID Card Copy
Return Ticket
Invitation Letter
One of the most crucial document in applying for the Chinese Business Visa is the Invitation Letter. In order for it to be accepted, the Invitation Letter needs to be issued by a Chinese company, corporation or institution. You will also need these things mentioned in the Invitation Letter:
- Applicant's Personal Information
-- Name
-- Gender
-- Date of Birth
-- Nationality
-- Passport No.
-- Required Entry
-- Company applicant working at & position/job title
- Visit Purpose
- City & Province of Visit
- Date of arrival & departure
- Relationship between applicant and inviter
- Financial bearer of applicant's accomodation and/or expenses in China
- Inviter's Information
-- Full Company Name / Unit
-- Inviter Name
-- Job Title
-- Detail Company Address, Fax Number & Telephone
-- Direct cell phone number (must be working)
-- Email address
- Actual signature of inviter
- Company seal
This invitation MUST be printed on a company letterhead that clearly shows the company address, fax and telephone number.
Now the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVASC) usually offers 3 types of services, Regular, Express and Urgent, except that the Urgent service isn't available in every CVASC. But thankfully the CVASC in Jakarta allows Urgent service. For Regular service, it would take approximately 4 working days, Express service would take 3 working days and Urgent Service would take 2 working days. For Regular and Express service, you can submit your documents until 3:00 PM but for Urgent Service, you will need to submit it before 11:00 AM. Of course different fees applies to each service type, you can look at the detailed information regarding the fees on this link.

When applying for Chinese Visa, both submission and pick-up can be done by someone other than the applicant without a Power of Attorney letter. But you have to make sure that you do not lose the Pick-Up Form. If you do lose the Pick-Up form, the applicant themselves have to pick up their passport at the CVASC.

I would say applying for a Chinese Visa is considerably easy. I've applied for Chinese Visa twice and both applications got approved. Best part of the whole application journey is that I can submit my documents today and have it back tomorrow morning as early as 9:00 am, using the Urgent Service!
